Terms
and Conditions
Statutory Rights
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall affect your statutory
rights under the law of England.
Payment
You can pay for your purchases either by credit, debit card,
credit or by placing the goods on your account, if you have one.
Credit accounts are normally only given to regular customers
who represent companies and institutions such as schools and
colleges. For details, please e-mail or telephone us.
If you choose to pay by credit card then the details of your
card number will be securely encrypted before they are transmitted
over the Internet or stored on our computers. This makes your
card details completely undecipherable by anyone except us. And
as soon
as the order has been processed, your card details are automatically
deleted from our computer.
Unlike some websites, when you submit your order we do not immediately
charge your card while you are still online. Your order is first
checked over carefully (by a human being, not a computer) and
only when we are satisfied that we can fulfil your order promptly
and
accurately with no unexpected increase in the prices will we
charge anything at all to your card.
Title to Goods
Total Music retains full title to all goods supplied until paid
for in full. In the event of the customer's insolvency Total
Music reserves the right to reclaim goods for which full payment
has not
been made.
VAT and other taxes
All prices are shown including VAT where applicable. Books and
sheet music are zero-rated for VAT in the UK; most other items
are rated at 17.5%.
Where VAT is applicable, it is shown in our website catalogues
at UK rates even if you have registered as a non-UK customer.
We are required by law to collect VAT at UK rates on orders despatched
to countries within the European Union.
Prices
With such a large catalogue of items in our database it is inevitable
that from time to time there will be errors in pricing caused
either by our mistake or by errors in the data sent to us by
manufacturers and publishers. If this means that your order would
cost more
than
anticipated we will check with you by email before processing
your order. If the price increase is small, we may at our discretion
decide
to absorb the increase ourselves.
Privacy
We are committed to protecting your privacy. When you register
you are not given an option to opt out of unsolicited e-mails.
That is because the only reason we will e-mail you is in
connection with
an order. We will not send you any e-mail for any other reason.
If this policy changes in the future, then we will first
e-mail you to ask whether you want to receive unsolicited e-mails,
and we will
observe your wishes.
All the information you give us is collected lawfully and in
accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and is collected
only for the purpose of processing your order and collecting
information for our own marketing purposes. All the information
you give
us when
you register, or when you place an order, is treated as confidential
and we will not share any of this information with any third
party.
If you have any queries about our privacy policy please e-mail
us.
Complaints
If you have any complaint about our service, please e-mail or
telephone us and ask to speak to the Managing Director. We will
treat your complaint fairly and confidentially, and we will endeavour
to
respond to all complaints within five working days.
